Semi-Final Football Preview: City v. Bettendorf

City High has the opportunity to extend their current state record winning streak to 27 this Friday against a tough (12-0) Bettendorf team.

“Bettendorf is really similar to us,” said lineman Nick Beckman. “They usually run the ball more than pass.”
The bulldogs have had victories over ranked North Scott, Davenport Assumption,Cedar Rapids Kennedy and Davenport Central. City High has beaten seven ranked teams this season.

6’2 Andrew McNulty goes against Senior 6’3 Gage Rinedour. Rinedour has had 6 touchdown passes and also played at Wide Reciever. McNulty who just passed over 1000 yards this season looks to have another big game in the Dome.

6’0 Ronald Thompson and 5’8 Cedric Readus match up against Bettendorfs 5’7 Blake Younkin. Thompson and Readus combined have 30 out of the 55 touchdowns score this season. Youkin who is a quick agile player has had 14 touchdowns for the Bulldogs, back up Adam Vesole has scored 5 touchdowns for the Bulldogs.

6’0 Connor Alberhasky vs. 5’11 Tamrick Atwood. Alberhasky has had 574 receiving yards this season and five touchdowns. Atwood also scored five touchdowns and has received for over 525 yards.
