City High Senior Night: Little Hawk Football Against Muscatine

The Rundown:  Coming off a loss to number 2 Washington, The Little Hawks prepare for Senior night where they will take on the Muscatine High School on October 22, 2014.

Friday’s game will start the 5th and final week of district play in the state of Iowa.  The Little Hawks are now (2-6) after losing (28-7) against Washington High School.

The Muskies are currently (6-2) and are ranked number two in their district after coming off a big win (31-10) against Prairie.

This week, The Little Hawks are faced with a must win game if they wish to keep their playoff hopes alive.  With a win, City High can secure the final playoff spot in their district.  With a loss and a Prairie win, things get a little complicated.

A scenario such as this will result in a 3 way tie that will be determined by average point differential between the teams.  Even with a loss, the Little Hawks still have a chance at the playoffs.

For Muscatine, #8 QB Matt Weiskamp who has 150 rushing attempts for a total of 507 yards. Averaging 4.8 yards a carry, Weiskamp leads the team with 13 touchdowns on the ground.

Muscatine’s passing game is also lead by #8 QB Matt Weiskamp who has made 70 attempts at pass, managing a 54.7% completion rate which similar City High’s sophomore QB #15 Nate Wieland, whose 95 pass attempts this season have resulted in a 50.3% completion rate.

On defense, the Little Hawks are led by #4 Erick Fletcher who has 46 solo tackles for the 14’-15’ season while the Muskies are led by #11 David Summers who has 20 solo tackles on the season.
