For the third year in a row, the City High newspaper The Little Hawk has been named an All-Iowa News Team. Mira Kumar ‘20, an executive editor, felt that the award was a good representation of the work the journalism program has put into the paper.

“I thought it was a tremendous honor, we’ve won it for the past few years now, it’s exciting for our team to be recognized for our hard work,” Kumar said.

In addition to the awards ceremony at the Iowa Memorial Union, members of The Little Hawk were able to attend various workshops during the school day to hone their journalism skills. Callista Roberston ‘22, enjoyed getting to see how a daily publication differed from The Little Hawk, a paper published monthly.

“I enjoyed getting to see an inside look at the Daily Iowan as it gave me a new perspective into how a different paper could function,” Robertson said.
