This weekend, Iowa downtown district and The Big Ten Rentals organized an ice rink on Iowa Street. Kids, parents and also young people enjoyed the weekend.

“Yes it was good and it’s easy,” said one young boy, who enjoyed skating on the synthetic ice.

His mom agreed, describing with pleasure the children’s enjoyment.

“Yeah the kids are really having fun, they are having a blast and no one really cares!”

Some voiced concern about the size but asides from that, many pronounced the event a success. It also attracted some visitors from out of town, to whom the event was a surprise.

“We are visiting Iowa City and we saw the road was closed so we got curious and came to the ice skating rink,” one couple said.

Despite the cold weather, kids and parents enjoyed watching and skating in the ice rink.

“Too bad it wasn’t a little warmer, but it seems still to be huge success and getting good news,” one woman said.

Overall, the community received the event well, and agreed to have more activities like this in the future, and possibly repeat the event.
