J.K. Rowling to Release Harry Potter Sequel

Michael Menietti, Reporter

Harry Potter is back yet again–but with a twist.

J.K. Rowling will be releasing a sequel set nineteen years after the Battle of Hogwarts that is centered around Harry’s son, Albus Severus. The story picks up after the moment that we last saw Harry, dropping his son off at platform 9 ¾.

This installment will first be a two part play, in addition to Rowling releasing the book this summer. The “special rehearsal edition” script book will be available at midnight on July 31st, the day after the play premieres. This is also the first official Harry Potter story to be presented on stage and it is based on the original story written by Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany- with the play being by Thorne.

The eBook edition will be published along with the print editions by Pottermore, which is Rowling’s website focusing on the unknown parts of the Harry Potter story in an interactive way. This limited preview edition will not be the only one available, however. A collector’s edition will be available later on, but the release date is unknown.
