This week, post season accolades were awarded to six girls basketball players. All five starters, Mickey Hansche ’13, Sierra Chambers ’12, Kiera Washpun ’14, Haley Lorenzen ’14, Harper Beasley ’12, and one of the team’s substitutes, Katherine Vanderwoude ’12 earned Mississippi Division honors.
Top scorer Hansche made the Mississippi Valley Conference Mississippi Division first team. The Little Hawks’ leading rebounder, Chambers, was named to the second team. Lorenzen and Washpun received honorable mentions as well.
“It feels good to know I almost made it,” Washpun said, “but I will work a lot harder to get an all conference spot next year.”
The team is not only successful on the court, but in the classroom as well. Beasley and Vanderwoude were named to the All-Academic team.
