On March 12, 2023, The 95th Academy Awards were held by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, honoring films released in 2022. Ditching the red carpet for this year’s Oscars, A multitude of celebrities came to the event and graced the Oscars champagne carpet. With that, here are some of (subjectively) the best looks that blessed the Oscars champagne carpet.

First, we have Angela Bassett, the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever actress who was styled in a mermaid-skirted ultraviolet Moschino. The actress was also sporting a Bulgari’s diamond Serpenti necklace on her neck along with a matching purple Judith Leiber bag.

Michelle Yeoh, star of A24’s Everything Everywhere All at Once actress looked angelic in a white Dior Haute Couture confection featuring fluttering feathers and a necklace styled as a hair ornament made for the perfect finishing touch.

Once the face of the modeling industry, Cara Delevingne stepped out onto the Oscars champagne carpet in an absolutely stunning red Elie Saab Haute Couture gown from the the 2021 Fall/Winter line, which was topped with a supersized bow and accented with Bulgari jewels.

Halle Bailey channeled her inner princess Ariel, wearing an aqua-colored Dolce & Gabbana princess dress with De Beers jewelry, proving to be the epitome of the Disney mermaid princess. The actress’ long awaited theatrical trailer for her movie, “The Little Mermaid,” debuted that night as well.

Chinese superstar, Fan Bingbing returns to the spotlight, blessing the champagne-colored carpet in a voluminous Tony Ward Couture gown — marking her first appearance at the Academy Awards in a decade. The actress exuded old Hollywood vibes, sporting her hair in classic finger waves and a classic red lip. The Tony Ward couture gown was dripping in crystals and had a classic siren silhouette with a dramatic green sleeve and cape detail.

For our final champagne carpet look, Nigerian singer-songwriter, Tems caused an uproar for her choice of fashion for the night. The 27-year-old was styled by Dunsin Wright and wore a white structured gown from Lever Couture, a Ukrainian designer. Being regarded as looking ethereal and angelic by fans of the dress, others had opinions about the singer’s gown. Labeled as view-obstructing, The dress featured a sculptural piece of pleated and boned fabric strips that curved up through the bodice and around the head. The Nigerian singer-songwriter went on to reply to the outburst with a Twitter post and the caption: “Oops.” With that, these are some of the looks that I think were particularly stunning at the 2023 Oscars.
